Introduction
The Other Side (TOS) is a World of Warcraft Guild on the Alliance side of the Cenarion Circle server. It was originally started by members of the NORG raiding group from the Horde Guild “Alea Iacta Est” on the Earthen Ring server. The purpose of the TOS guild is to provide a casual environment for people to hang out socially and have fun. The emphasis of the group is intended to be firmly on friendships and building relationships over progression in levels or gear.
In order to join the guild, please fill out a Membership Form! A completed Memberhip Form will let us know that you’re interested in joining and is a requirement to be promoted to a Member of the guild!
Guild Ranks
The Other Side Guild Ranks are as follows:
- Initiate – This is the trial rank for the guild. Initiates do not have access to the Guild Bank. If after 2-3 weeks the Initiate has proven themselves to be a good upstanding citizen and have completed a Membership Form they will be eligible for promotion to the rank of Member.
- Member – Members make up the core of our Guild. They have limited bank access. Members who have been with the guild for a very long time and have added an Authenticator to their account may be promoted to the rank of Veteran.
- Veteran – Veterans have much more access to the Guild Bank, including Gold withdraws. This rank signifies that you’ve been in the guild for a very long time, are an important part of our guild and have established yourself firmly with us. When we look for new Officers, this is where we start.
- Officer – The Officers work with the Guild Master to provide leadership to the guild.
- Guild Master – The GM of the guild is authorized to act within reason in an active leadership role with regard to the guild.
- Probation – This Rank is reserved for people who need a moment on the time-out chair. Hopefully you never end up here. When a player is on Probation you cannot speak in Guild Chat and have no access to the Guild Bank.
- Officer Alt – This rank has been added so that the Officers can retain most of their Managerial abilities while playing on their alts. Previously we had all of our alts set as Officers and it looked like we had 100 Officers in a guild of 350, which is quite silly.
Guild Rules
- Be Excellent to Each Other – We founded this Guild as our own haven from a lot of the nasty, immature people that ruin the game for everyone else. Jerks need not apply.
- Make us Proud – Please don’t make us look bad when you wear our Guild Tag. That means be respectful to people outside the Guild the same as if they were in the Guild. Don’t misbehave in other people’s PUGs, don’t go AFK in PvP, and please…. don’t be one of “those guys” in Trade Chat either, we don’t like those guys.
- Don’t Steal from Us – Take a look at our Guild Bank policies. Here is a brief summary: Don’t take from our Guild for your Toons in another Guild. Don’t take things out of the GBank and Auction them or use them for crafted items that you will sell. If you borrow gold, please pay it back.
- Language – We are a diverse group of people, so please choose your words carefully. We will not tolerate any sort of hate speech against people of other races, sexual orientation or anything else. We prefer to maintain a civil atmosphere in our Guild Chat and Ventrilo. If you feel the need to express yourself with obscenity you are free to create private chat channels and go to town. Please also avoid character names that are offensive, condone illegal activity or are otherside inappropriate.
- No Harassment – I can’t even believe I have to say this, but you’d be surprised. Guys, I’m looking at you. Yes… there are ladies who play this game. We’ve got some in this Guild too. Behave yourselves or we will deal with the situation quickly.
- No Begging – Please do not beg in guild chat for gold or items. If you need a loan from the guild, please talk to an officer in private. Also, do not beg high-level members for a run-through on low level dungeons. Keep in mind that everyone is trying to enjoy their limited time to play the game. Sometimes people have nothing to do and are happy to run a level 12 through Deadmines. It’s fine to ask once in guild chat, any more than that starts getting weird.
- Enjoy Yourself – I’m afraid this one is mandatory. If you’re not having fun , why are you here? If this Guild isn’t doing it for you, please let us know why. We’re all human beings (well, most of us are) and if theres something we can do better we’re always happy to hear it.
